THE CLUB TODAY

Pirongia Rugby and Sports Club is currently the vibrant centre of the Pirongia community. Over winter the club fields a Senior A and Senior B team in the Waikato competition, as well as an Under 19 team – the Under 19s having made the finals playoffs the last 2 years.

The Club also fields 18 junior teams ranging from pre school up to 12th and 13th grades. Over the last couple of years the club has undertaken an initiative to link with Kawhia and Tahoroa to provide rugby for the juniors in these areas also.

Over summer the club runs both touch and volleyball competitions (mixed teams) which both cater for 24 teams each. There is also a junior module which runs as well.

The Club also fields a team in the Waikato Valley Cricket competition which this year won the championship for the B grade.

There are also 2 squash courts at the club and a summer business house is run as well as winter club nights.

Also available at the Club is tennis, netball,  bowls and also the local Plunket!
